Iver Heath is a village located in the South Bucks district of Buckinghamshire, England. The area has a long history dating back to prehistoric times, with evidence of early human habitation discovered in the
nearby Colne Valley. During the Anglo-Saxon period, the area was part of the kingdom of Mercia. The village name “Iver” is derived from the Old English word “Gifre” or “Gifera” meaning “bushy area by a body of water,” while “Heath” refers to the open heathland in the area. In the medieval period, Iver Heath was part of the manor of Iver, which was held by various lords and bishops throughout the centuries. During the 17th and 18th centuries, the area was known for its brick-making industry, and a number of old clay pits and brick kilns can still be seen in the local countryside.
Today, Iver Heath is a residential area with a mix of old and new houses, as well as a number of local amenities including a post office, village hall, and primary school. The village is located close to the M25 motorway and is well-connected to the surrounding areas of Slough, Uxbridge, and London.
